In 2007 they asked Purpose to find a more memorable and creative way of upholding the much appreciated tradition.
A selection of CMYK coloured jelly beans presented in a beautifully finished printed box did the job nicely, and showcased Darwin’s great printing skills.

By using a vintage logo, vintage colors on kraft cases, and early racecar imagery, all in the style of the era, we lend authenticity to the viewer’s journey in time. Visually connecting the viewer to the automobile’s Golden Age, we remind them that Havoline has always been there for them, and will continue to be for the next 100 years and beyond.”

At that time they had just started their business and their budget was particularly small, in fact we accepted bags, shoes and jewelery as payment.

“My concept to the bottle graphics were to move away from traditional beer graphics, and make the bottle design differentiate in the market by taking on an extreme modern and minimalist design. This almost sterile approach followed through into the packaging of the 2-pack and -pack varieties by packaging the beer in blister packs like pharmaceuticals. The blister packs were custom molded for the beer bottles.”
