“Style icon Bonnie Gokson is renowned for her image creation and product design. So when she embarked on an new exciting project overseeing and conceptualising Sevva, Ikon was thrilled to be involved. Taking up the penthouse floor of Hong Kong’s Prince’s Building, Sevva (pronounced “savour”) is a unique destination offering two restaurants, a lounge area and taste bar as well as Ms B, a decadent cake shop.
Ikon’s involvement took place at two levels. One was creating the identities and key collateral for both Sevva and Ms B. The other was working in collaboration with Bonnie and creative consultant Sharyn Storrier Lyneham to develop interior colour palettes and to ensure these integrated cohesively with the branding and graphics. With guests encouraged to move from one space to the next, it was vital that each distinctive area sat comfortably together like rooms of a home and reflected the Sevva brand values. This extends to the luxury of the Ms B cake shop.
Drawing inspiration from the romance of old-fashioned European patisseries, Ikon used the silhouette of a classic Venetian mirror and script font to create the decorative logo. With a select palette of pink, chocolate, white and gold, these rich elements are balanced with bold stripes and a deconstructed doily pattern. Applied in various interpretations across Ms B cake boxes, tissue paper, ribbon, carry bags and stickers, the packaging is a sweet indulgence.”
