Capilano Universtiy graduating student Pamela Rounis sent us some of her great package design work.
“Zachary’s Sugar – Zachary’s look and feel is inspired by the whimsy and comfort of home-baked goodies. To improve any leakage issues with traditional sugar packaging Zachary’s uses a bio-plastic lined bag, reinforced bottom and a tin-tie top for resealing.”
“Juicy Chew – ‘The Orginial Fruit Gum’ A niche gum for the environmentally friendly consumer. This gum pack uses 100% post consumer waste, chemical free recycled paper and vegetable based inks. It is fully recyclable and uses approximately half of the materials of its predecessor (blister pack gum).”

Good stuff. I love all these designers who are bringing new life to the “vintage look” (see: Juicy Chew).

All I see is bad typographic skills and bad use of colours. Not even any interesting concepts!

Thanks Ben, really great to get some encouragement at the beginning of my career

I rather like the designs and use of colors…I would think they would suit and attract the target market very well. Those who leave disrespectfully negative comments should realize that art (including design) is subjective and though pieces may not always appeal to us, these types of forums are not for pretentious insults. Constructive, respectful, criticism is used in the professional world. To the designer here, your work will beget its own success regardless of others useless negativity. Unfortunately we all have to deal with that on occasion. Good Luck!

Hi Pam,
What kind of bags did you use for the sugar? It just looks fabulous.
