“A nice, sturdy box highlights this deluxe, collector’s-edition packaging for the Metal Gear Solid video game series. The focus of this project was to cast off the garish existing anime-styled artwork in favor of a more tasteful approach built around the aesthetic appeal of a military survival kit. The kit includes game discs as rations, game manuals as a mission brief, a memory card as cigarettes, and a customized dog tag.”
“Made from recycled materials, this cardboard wall shelf begins as a folded 11” x 14” rectangle. Prompted by the instructions on the packaging, the user unfolds it into a flat shape, and then folds it up into a shelf with the help of an easy-to-use letter-matching system. The nails that hold the shelf to the wall also hold the folded shelf together. The final shelf space is 11” x 7” and is sturdy enough to comfortably support a full load of average-sized books. Sold at MICA’s Art Market.”
“A hand-crafted box packages this balloon-powered toy car that was designed from scratch. The design was made with cost-effectiveness in mind, but it still remains durable and well thought out. The box provides protection for the car, which is held in place by a chiseled foam insert. The inside of the lid explains how to use the car, and the physics behind the way it works.”
