“Building on the ever growing trend for craft beers, Tesco have joined forces with Marston’s Brewers to launch their ‘Revisionist’ range exclusively in Tesco stores.
The range of bottled beers includes Hefeweizen Wheat Beer, Belgian Saison Beer, California Steam Beer, Dark India Pale Ale, American Hop Rye Pale Ale, Craft Lager and Pacific Hop Red Ale. Revisionist craft beers are the result of master brewer’s having free reign to ‘revise’ their favourite brewing recipes using contemporary techniques and ingredients to create truly unique and distinctive beers.”
“The packaging design, created by agency R Design, was inspired by travel and the idea of visiting the places from which each unique style of beer originates.
Creative Director Dave Richmond says: “ I had some old railway tickets from my days of travelling around the world and felt that they evoked a real sense of nostalgia about travel and discovery which fitted so well with this eclectic collection of beers”
The designs combine the appearance of letterpress printing onto uncoated stock with printed watermarks and the serrated edges of old tickets. These as well as the simple bold patterns used express a raw authenticity that celebrates product individuality over mega brand uniformity.”
