Happy J’s Kombucha Makes A Hard Comeback

Designed By: SoreThumbStudio | Country: United Kingdom

Happy J’s is known for its low-sugar, probiotic-rich alcoholic drinks. The brand uses Kombucha, fermented black or green tea known for its health benefits, as one of its primary ingredients to create these probiotic-rich alcoholic beverages. The company has now teamed up with branding and design agency SoreThumbStudio® for the launch of their latest Hard Kombucha drink.

Why ‘Hard’ Kombucha? The answer is simple. The alcoholic beverage to be launched in the UK contains quadruple distilled Vodka and Kombucha.

While Hard Kombucha has made inroads in the US, it is yet to make its mark in the UK and European markets.

SoreThumbStudio® is known for creating unique brands that are different and speak out loud in a crowd. The branding agency did away with the idea of using conventional designs associated with Kombucha, such as sandal shackles and floral patterns. Inspired by the Second Summer of Love, the design studio focused on bringing back the fun side of Happy J’s.

Jake Filson, the founder of Happy J’s, mentioned the following in the design brief:

“Give me a brand that looks shit hot on a t-shirt.”

Following the design brief, SoreThumbStudio® came up with “informative, fun, irreverent” and retro-styled designs, bringing back memories of the popular social phenomenon of the 80s, the Second Summer of Love.
