Tinctures Lost In Time Brought Back To Life By Castel Mimi’s Technologists

Designed by: 43oz.com | Market Region: Europe

Constantin Mimi, the governor of Moldova, was a multitalented and versatile genius. In addition to being a politician with a keen interest in law, he was a winemaker. Furthermore, he experimented with various “fruits, berries, and even flowers” to create unique alcoholic tinctures; however, his unique recipes were lost in time for over a century.

Named after the multitalented governor, Castel Mimi, a modern winery in Moldova, took up the challenge of bringing back these unique recipes 100 years later.

43’oz Design Studio mentions:

Castel Mimi technologists managed to recreate a whole line of unique tinctures based on his research. This is how Nucată, Vișinată and Trandafirată by Castel Mimi were created, for which our studio had the pleasure to develop the packaging design.

The packaging

The focus of the design agency was to highlight these incredible recipes visually. In addition to communicating the uniqueness and naturalness of the products, the packaging had to convey “the craft approach in production.”

The packaging follows a retro-styled theme, which depicts the botanical illustrations of the herbage. Textured paper and nature-inspired designs have been used in the packaging to enhance the attractiveness of the product.

“…Each product wields its own unique illustration, which emphasizes a fairly concise and straightforward approach to product design, where each graphic element enhances the image of a natural vintage product. Therefore, the consumer instantly pays attention to the main distinguishing features of the drink – its name and ingredients – and realizes that it is something unusual, original, with a special history.
