Chemistry Gin is an unexpected combination of science and nature. The Gin makers combined their efforts with SingleDouble, an Auckland-based creative studio, to highlight the fresh take on craft spirit. The creative studio consciously avoided “chemistry lab clichés” and worked on the packaging design to highlight the magical aspect of science.
“Conscious of avoiding any obvious chemistry lab clichés, we worked to a theme of enhancing and elevating the creative, slightly wondrous side of science. We wanted to devise a highly engaging look with a dash of intrigue, linking chemistry to relationships between people and nature.”
The packaging
Sustainability is at the core of Chemistry Gin, so the design agency used a “100% Estal Pharma Wild Glass recycled bottle with 100% cotton uncoated paper stock.” Furthermore, the creative studio used abstract orb illustrations, which blur “the line between pragmatic science and the pure joy of a well-mixed drink.”
“The end result is a product with a confident, light-hearted feel that embraces experimentation and is designed to surprise people, and draw them in with the use of organic, abstract forms. An aesthetic and approach designed to help a new brand stand out and thrive in the crowded craft gin category.”
