This preliminary packaging concept is from a project exploring our client’s brand progression from a premium perfume brand to include values towards reduced impact and goals to support environmental causes.
The bottle design was inspired by the amorphous, twisting driftwood on the beach after a storm, which over time had been smoothed by the waves and sand. I loved the correlation between the driftwood and the clients brand, how both over time were transformed by natural power. The glass provided an opportunity to explore texture even further, with decorative sandblasted portions on the sides with untreated contours that mimic the ocean waves and opacity of water.
The bottle lid and dropper took inspiration from the twisting contour of the driftwood as well as water droplets hitting the surface of the ocean with an elongated elliptical teardrop dropper for perfume application. The function explored the customers’ connectedness to nature with a physical applicator versus a traditional spray application. We felt this enhanced the connectivity and experience of the brand and values of the product.
