Designed by: Alec Tear and Kuba & Friends | Country: US

Founded in 2013, Gopuff is an instant delivery platform known for its wide range of products. The popular go-to platform is focused on delivering everyday products to customers immediately. Customers can order anything from household cleaning products to drinks and ice cream using the online platform at any time of the day and get it delivered quickly.

The Mean Tomato is Gopuff’s first fresh food brand. The brand includes NYC-style pizzas with a wide range of flavor combinations.

Gopuff approached creative director Alec Tear and design agency Kuba & Friends for the packaging and branding concept.

The packaging

The packaging reminds one of the traditional New York-style pizza boxes. The square pizza box with the caricature of the mean tomato in the center looks attractive. The chunky custom fonts go well with other design elements. The combination of contemporary illustrations and typography with a traditional color palette makes the centuries-old product stylish.

Amelia Riba, Vice President of Gopuff Kitchens, said:

“This is an exciting new category for Gopuff with great potential – we’re just beginning to test the waters in terms of what we can do in the fresh, made-to-order food space with instant delivery. Gopuff Kitchens will continue to expand its menu by launching new brands, providing more opportunities for customers to enjoy new experiences with Gopuff time and time again.”
