Spain is known for its Flamenco music, bullfights, Moorish heritage, and wine.
Hermenegildo García, a well-known viticulturist in the city of Toro, turned 100 this year. El Alma de Gildo is a fitting tribute to the old master.
The idea for the packaging comes from the concept of the soul, which always remains hidden. Only the wisest can pierce through oneself to meet his purer self. Be it wine or music, one touch of the soul makes them magical. The packaging reveals the brand only after a customer removes the upper layer of the packaging: just like the soul!
“El Alma de Gildo is a tribute wine to Hermenegildo García, one of the wisest viticulturists in the city of Toro who has just turned 100 years old. For the concept we are based on the idea that the soul is something that is there but cannot be seen, it has to be discovered as it happens on the label. Through a complex die cut we form a “pop up” that if you lift it you finish reading the full name of the wine. On the label, there is also a deboss print poetry written by Gildo and to close the bottle we use white sealing wax with a diagonal finish to accentuate the premium format of this exclusive wine.”
