Just before the pandemic hit the world hard, Matt Sayre founded the “modern functional beverage” brand. Matt teamed up with ROOK/NYC, a New York-based creative agency known for branding and packaging, “to elevate the brand amongst the current category of functional beverage competitors.”
The creative agency was inspired by the intensity of the flavors, which led them to create the matte black can. The cans are designed to attract customers when they sit on a shelf. The combination of color palette, ingredient illustration, and typography resulted in the strong shelf presence of the can.
“The new Shrubbly can designs are just starting to hit shelves but we have been sharing them with buyers during sales visits for the past month. Buyers have expressed more confidence in their ability to sell the new cans. They expect customers to be very attracted to the new cans. Customers who we have spoken to have all responded very positively to the new designs,” says Matt Sayre.
