Sodiko, a firm that has been a longstanding collaborator with 43OZ, has recently begun the development of ready-to-drink cocktails, using their most popular drinks as a foundation. The revered Negroni cocktail was chosen to be based on the Strange Luve series of dry gins, which we had the privilege of designing the original packaging for. The natural progression in the design of the label for this new drink was to maintain the overall style of the original gin, while incorporating new elements that would accentuate the cocktail’s distinctive features. This led to the creation of the visual design for the new product, Strange Luve Negroni.
The visual design of the Strange Luve Negroni cocktail revolves around a detailed illustration, rendered in a surrealistic style. A closer inspection reveals a wealth of subtle alterations in the portrait, particularly the inclusion of various fruits intended to represent the taste characteristics of the Negroni cocktail. A large Negroni inscription, embossed with orange foil, was added to the side of the label, further simplifying the identification of the drink. The result is a product that integrates flawlessly into the overall Strange Luve product line, while also clearly conveying its unique attributes to potential consumers.
