According to popular lore, Alaric, the Visigoth king, was interred with his vast hoard of gold at the junction of the Busento and Crati rivers, where the city of Cosenza in Italy now stands.

The logo of “Zafferano del Re” (Saffron of the King) draws inspiration from this tale of Alaric’s treasure. A pioneering company is reviving the cultivation of saffron, historically known as the red gold or the treasure of the soil, on the very lands believed to hold the king’s riches.

The logo modernizes King Alaric’s visage within an irregular circle, reminiscent of ancient gold coins. Additionally, each package includes a treasure map to emphasize this theme.
