The Great Bonza

“Bonza is an Australian expression that describes the feeling that spread through the body before you exclaim “hurray!”. Something is bonza if it is superb and amazing, but at the same time laid back and relaxed. People and places can be bonza. This wine is. Therefore, it was namned The Great Bonza. The wine is produced in Australia by renowned Quarisa Wines, and it is powerful and nuanced, with hints of black currant, black cherry, licorice and coffee.

For the design the client wanted something playful and colorful. We got catchwords like: cheerful and retro. The latter, as producer John got a retro feel of the name. The client also wanted to relate to the Australian origin.

So we thought: since the wine is powerful in flavour, and The Great Bonza is a quirky name for a wine – why not use a quirky Australian circus? The design is playful with a nod to the classic image of the boxing kangaroo. We chose happy and bright colors that are perhaps a little unexpected in the context. We wanted the box to stand out on the shelf, but also add to the atmosphere at the dinner table – a truly colorful exterior for a truly colorful wine.”

Seaworthy Vodka

lovely-package-seaworthy-7

Designed by Squad Ink | Country: Australia

“We constantly find ourselves dreaming up product ideas that bridge the gap between design and product development. Seaworthy Vodka is one of those ideas that we’re proud has made it off the pages in our scrapbook and into production!

Inspired by the Australian seaside and the glorious Bloody Mary cocktail –Seaworthy’s unique taste profile is navigated by the native Australian botanicals of Saltbush (recalling sea-like flavours), Dorrigo Pepperleaf, Lemon Myrtle and Coriander seed.

Seaworthy explores the relationship between land and sea: Two powerful forces coming together to represent the creation of something intriguing and exciting through the complex profile of earthy spice and salty, sweet sea flavour notes. We captured the energy and drama of land and sea colliding through a striking illustration applied to a full circumference bottle label that draws in consumers from all angles.”

Designed by One Plus One Design | Country: Canada

“Concept: a location in the Exchange District in Winnipeg, Canada, means a wide cross section of clientele. This includes young professionals, corporate offices, and college students, all from a multitude of different industries. With a bold name, the brand needed to give off a vibe landing in between hipness and approachability, attracting customers from all walks of life.

Solution: a simple product offering called for a simple solution. Better yet, a clever solution. Taking a step back from our initial concepts we quickly realized the opportunity the name held, which was not immediately obvious — coffee + donuts are located right in the middle of the company name. Running with this discovery, we engineered a crisp brand identity with a tongue in cheek personality, carefully considering each brand extension. Exterior and interior signage, menu design, individual and group donut packaging were all consistently designed for engaging customer experience.”

Designed by mousegraphics | Country: Greece

“We worked with our client to build the Aromatologic brand image and story and started packaging applications with the oil perfume series. In the spa line we worked further on the ‘logic’ component in the brand’s name. We designed the glass container, its padded case and plastic cover and devised their graphic design as a game of alternating materials and basic geometric shapes, volumes and colors. The brand logo, invented as the metamorphosis of an essence drop to letter A, is placed in the center of the packaging surface. Vibrant but hazy colors, corresponding to the hue and feel of the spa product in each case, radiate in soft, beneficial waves.”

We worked on the package design for their new line of facial treatment masks containing special ingredients from traditional oriental medicine such as horse and snake oils, which have been used for generations.

We have established design principles based on the brand positioning, target market and ingredients.

Inspired by the Chinese pictorial tradition, with its artistic depictions of creatures and patterns, the result incorporates animals camouflaged among themselves to represent the unique ingredients which are the key point of the products.”
