“Lumis is an environmentally conscious candle company. I designed packaging for their tea-lights to honour this commitment to sustainability. A recycled cardboard container with a lid will protect the candles better during transport and also be re-sealable after opening. Once the candles are gone the consumer can re-purpose this container to store something else, or easily recycle it. Allowing the natural cardboard to show, and using simple graphics and a single colour makes it instantly apparent that the minimum amount of materials and resources were used for the package. The tactile qualities of the cardboard and natural inks convey quality while also providing effective and attractive storage.”

Circle 21 Candles

Designed by Nudge | Country: United States

“Circle 21 Candles produces all natural soy candles in a line of location-themed scents. The candles are hand-poured into recycled wine bottle containers and topped with “branded” corks to keep the candles smelling fresh. For the labels, we created a blank letterpress label template and used custom rubber stamps for each scent.  This not only allowed the client to easily and economically add new scents but also gave each candle a unique, one-of-a-kind feel.”

Izola Candles

Designed by Aesthetic Movement | Country: United States

“Inspired by the old world utilitarian ideal of making something that is “built to last,” Izola and Aesthetic Movement have curated a collection of whimsical objects with a masculine sense of antiquity.  Made with great care and attention to detail, this series of functional every day staples are designed to be perfect men’s gifts. The products include flasks, soaps, candles, laundry bags, bamboo toothbrushes, handkerchiefs, brass desk objects, shower rings, ceramics and shower curtains.

While the collaboration with Aesthetic Movement began in 2009, Izola was originally founded in 2007 by Neil Rasmus and Richard Brandt as a company that produced innovative shower curtains for big box stores, such as Bed Bath and Beyond.  In 2008 when Jesse James and Diane Shaw formed Aesthetic Movement, a design consultancy and showroom for upper echelon housewares and accessories brands, a partnership with Izola was formed.  Since then, Izola has continued to evolve beyond the bathroom category into barware, desk, travel and other categories.”

Designed by Pure Living | Country: Canada

“LUCIA was inspired by Lucie Bernier (president) of Pure living products. Her many travels to Europe, Asia, etc has led her to bring back through the years an assortment of Renaissance designs on fabrics from Florence, ceramic work from Portugal, Spain and  Italy, etc. She wanted to create a line of specialty soaps (now candles also)  that reflected these rich  textured designs. Each design reflects old world charm with a modern touch. The logo LUCIA in black & white reflected the ‘cleanness’ of a soap product and at the same time counter-act the rich and ‘busy’ textures of the old world designs. Also, this was a product that was designed in our contemporary times so the logo had to refect this. The box construction of the soaps was inspired from old, pre-war soap designs from Spain & Portugal. The candle box contruction was inspired  by the ‘Pannetone’ cake found in Italy.”
