“A fine line separates the worlds of wine and beer. Fil is a seam stitched between these two worlds. A sparkling wine made with a type of yeast typically used for brewing beer.

The natural formation of bubbles produced by bottle fermentation manifests itself in a multitude of threads of tiny bubbles that give their name to ‘vi d’agulla,’ literally ‘needle wine’ – subtle and persistent on the tongue and the palate.

The name ‘Fil’ means ‘thread’ in Catalan.”

“Every good countryman curses the bones of the thrush because in cold weather it is this bird that eats the olives. Nevertheless, this fact indicates a healthy olive grove. And this is true in the case of the olive grove based on ecological production, from which a native variety extra virgin olive oil known as Argudell is extracted. Illustration and typography merge to represent this scene, taking advantage of the round drop that reminds one of an olive hanging from a branch that has just been broken off.”

“During the Mancommunity period in the early 20th century, the Empordà was a point of reference in Catalan poultry farming, and many shows and competitions were held here. The Empordanese Aperdiuada hen –a minority breed that lays peculiar dark, speckled eggs– almost became extinct during the Civil War. Fortunately, some specimens survived on a farm in Castelló d’Empúries, which led to the recovery of this special breed.”

Like two pieces of a puzzle, this is a mistela of fusions. Wood types printed in green and orange are overprinted.”
