I’ve always loved these for how clean and simple these are. They really appeal to me as a designer but honestly, these are not new and I think you should be only posting new and noteworthy work on this site. If you created an “archive” section, it would be more appropriate within your website.
Lastly, being a designer that is very familiar with the realities of packaging. However, with all due respect, I’m kind of questioning whether these were ever “real” given that they have no legal copy on the front. I’ll clarify “real” in terms that it was approved by a client, focused tested and launched into the marketplace.
Why do I bring this up or even care? Well, It’s really easy to be a great designer and create great design solutions that meet the criteria established within the mind of a designer. But the reality is we all do this for paying clients who understand and represent the needs of the consumer. If this was in fact the case, then I give you an apology in advance for questioning the work. Furthermore, my hat goes off to the entire team (client and designers) who successfully improved this brands value in the marketplace and cleaned up what I consider a category of food (canned goods) which has been a thorn in my eye since thorns were invented.

This range has been recently redesigned and repackaged under the wider sub-brand “essential waitrose”, but uses many of the same images on a white background

Nice! I love Waitrose, because they always make the most out of display. Even the boring things as tomato beans:)

Just to clarify and clear up any uncertainty as to whether these are ‘real’ printed packs, they were actually produced and printed and available in Waitrose up until recently. They are slowly being replaced by the essentials range but they are still available in certain Waitrose stores.
Waitrose are a fantastic client who push the boundaries and promote design as an integral part of their packaging offer which for a designer is the dream client.

beautiful use of color. Makes me feel like I’m going to open the can and eat something really clean and healthy.
