La Brasserie du Château

Designed by A3 Studio | Country: Switzerland

“The Brasserie Artisanale du Château based in Lausanne, Switzerland, commissioned the graphic design agency A3 Studio to create four new labels for their traditionally made beer, as well new packaging.

The beers are brewed with a traditional process, for this reason A3 Studio has developed a graphic style which is both contemporary and traditional. The labels for la Brune, la Blonde, la Ginger and the India Pale Ale are inspired by the sea world and are decorated with ropes. The illustrations (a whale, a corset, a siren, and a ship) are drawn by hand to emphasize the hand made production of the beer, they are inspired by old engravings and sailor tattoos.

Printed on craft paper, the labels stress the authenticity of the beer. The brown cardboard of the four-pack completes the look.”

“This is a branding and packaging project for beer being brewed in the White House. Instead of being sold in stores, honorary guests receive this as a limited edition four-pack sampler from the President.  This fictional brand is named We the People, drawing inspiration from the historic documents on which our nation is founded on. The labels on each bottle pay tribute to a different document. Similar to how these documents are displayed in the National Archives in Washington DC, the packaging is meant to be utilized as a display case.”

“The Restored water identity and packaging concept was strongly influenced by the process of taking highly treated wastewater that would have previously been discharged into the Pacific Ocean and purifying it using a three-step advanced treatment process. My main objective was to create a brand that would be a blueprint for water agencies throughout the world in order to help solve local water supply issues.

The logo and identity concept was inspired by patterns found in groundwater filtration systems while the packaging concept inspiration came from mixing clean lines with stainless steel, glass, and recycled wood materials. The final system resulted in the creation of a line of reusable water canteens that convey a modern and minimalistic approach to design while still functioning as a piece of art in the household.”

“I love milk.

But unfortunately milk never tastes the same outside Norway. I needed to make my self a problem I could solve. I wanted to make norwegian milk available outside of Norway, but I love the packaging design of high-end alcohol products. The brand Voss have had great success with their norwegian water internationally, so why not make an exclusive norwegian milk?

So how would a exclusive milk from the mountains of Norway look like, if it was to be sold internationally? The solution gives you a warm and good vintage feeling, while maintaining the exclusive look. The typeface that “Mountain Milk” is set in reflects the roots of Norway, and the image that is revealed after you’ve had a glass gives you a picture of the nature in Norway.”
