Dr van der Hoog

Designed by nu:amsterdam | Country: The Netherlands

“Dr van der Hoog is a Dutch Cosmetics brand with a 75 year heritage. They decided to radically reposition their brand to a stylish statement of natural beauty. The Creative network nu:amsterdam created the new identity for the 60+ products assortment.

The designers chose an iconic centered layout, applied to simple white packaging for the moisturizers category. Colour accents in the product descriptors help consumers navigate the 6 ranges assortment. Heavy materials, refined silver lines and the logo embossing confirm the quality and authority of the brand.

In the product presentation kit the contrast of the unfinished birch wood against the shiny packs makes a great impact, communicating natural beauty in a simple way.

The younger face masks category requires more dynamism and power, which is what explains the abundant use of natural ingredient photographs on the packs.

The humorous product descriptors add youth and fun to the packs, that are still part of the brand identity.”

Student Work - Michela Monterosso

Designed by Michela Monterosso | Country: Italy

“I created a concept series of flavored milk with Japanese names. I imagined these bottles and cartons being sold in a cute artisan shop in Tokyo, maybe along with biscuits and teas.

I chose some Japanese words to represent the feeling of each milk. Amai (meaning sweet) for the vanilla one. Asa (meaning morning) for the coffee flavour milk. Shizuku (meaning drop) for strawberry. Midori (meaning green) for the green tea milk.”

Nutella - Esperienza Italia 150

Designed by ARC’S | Country: Italy

“What is the nutshell of Italian excellence? And how the beloved Nutella can celebrate it, together with millions of Italian families? This was the starting point for the design of the limited edition of Nutella “Esperienza Italia 150”.

ARC’S has interpreted the project in four themes: arts (music, poetry, cinema), design, landscapes & Architecture and historical topics. The result is a fresh and joyful dialogue between Federico Fellini and the matchless Moka for coffee, Rome and Venice and Garibaldi riding a Vespa!

Words and design mix together, words become design and they beat a syncopate rhythm. For example, the “landscapes & architecture” theme in English would sound something like “The train makes us run quickly: from the Alps to Sicily joins Rome the immortal with Pisa and its tower and Venice laying on the water!”.
