Italians have milked buffalo for centuries to make cheeses like mozzarella di bufala. Double 8 Dairy decided to capitalize on the richness of the milk to create amazingly creamy farmstead gelato. The packaging captures this pioneering spirit by creating an unique aesthetic for ultra-premium ice creams and gelatos.  Positioned to stand out amongst other products in the high-end specialty food retailer, the design solution uses only color and repetitive typographic elements to create a bold and sophisticated branding statement. The end result is a package that exudes modernism, yet pays homage to the Italian heritage of the product itself”

The simple block ice cream has been a favorite in the 70s but disappeared from the range. Nowadays the honest and authentic products reflect the zeitgeist again and therefor they have been relaunched.

allink developed the packaging design for the relaunch of the popular classic, which has been created from scratch. The packaging design attracts attention due to the straight-line and reduced design. And it awakes memories of the summer vacation in Italy, colored Vespa scooter and a time, when everything was little bit simpler.”

“When the digital agency Substance started working on branding for a new gelato product, I was psyched to be brought on board to create the logo and packaging components. I love food packaging projects, especially when you get to try the product for inspiration! The packaging was created for Naia Gelato’s new gelato-on-a-stick product that is being sold in high-end supermarkets in California and the Western US. The final solution was a slightly throwback feel meets sophisticated Italian soda fountain. Custom lettering for the logo was created for a handmade, crafted, boutique feel and small scalloped die cut labels were chosen to allow the product quality to shine through. Many, many, many bars of gelato were eaten throughout the duration of this project.”

The small, family-owned dairy farm produces ice cream exclusively made by the creamy milk from Swedish mountain cows. It is available in several natural and exotic flavors, including Wild Meadowsweet, Cloudberry and Vasterbotten cheese.

The design is simple but distinctive. “We wanted a playful, homemade feel, while avoiding the cliché of how organic and natural products should look,” says Per Lindgren, art director at Racer.”

Mammoth simply wants to stand up for and celebrate what ‘real men’ are about and the type of food they want to eat. We talk in men’s language about things that men care about or are entertained and all our products are designed primarily to be enjoyed by men.”
