“Born of love for her self-proclaimed granola connoisseur husband, Jennifer Sommer’s granola comes from the heart. This salty, sweet, nutty, crunchy treat is genuinely irresistible.

Originally dubbed Obsessed granola, Sommer House gained an early following of foodie aficionados. Obsessed as people were, the name just didn’t ring true. M Plus developed the name and packaging design for Sommer House, synonymous with her own name and her delicious recipe she created in her home kitchen. More than just an epicurean delight, Sommer House embodies a beloved place, the joys summer time, and delights from the inside out.”

Juan Montaña

Designed by Sociedad Anónima | Country: Mexico

“Moonshine was the name given to illegally distilled whiskey during the US Prohibition, among this time, production was carried out at night, under the moon’s rays. Juan Montaña is a Mexican distilled liquor which represents the southern US., made out of natural products such as water, yeast, corn kernels and barley. Its branding, packaging and graphic language are inspired by the story of a typical old hermitliving in the southern US Mountains, represented with a vintage ilustration at the top of the label. We chose to merge a rustic style with spare printing techniques to create a fresh design, combined with old fashioned elements to reflect the natural essence of the product. The result is a label with a vintage and raw look that give it a handmade feel.”

Grill Iron

Designed by End of Work | Country: Australia

“A spirited new brand identity with a healthy attitude and an appetite for opinion. The grill is king. The logo is quite literally type on a grill and by using a graphic inspired by the grill, the visual identity has an impactful, almost militant quality with thick black scorch marks burned into key pieces. The packaging was designed to be as visible as possible on the super-lean budget. The interiors, signage, uniforms, point of sale and packaging all reflect this natural, clean ethos, using raw materials and earthy finishes, we paid homage to the handmade and bespoke offer that is the Iron Grill way. This idea drove the identity, which in turn drove the direction of the interior, the textures, the materials, the uniforms. All these elements build a engaging and memorable experience.”

Gran Luchito

Gran Luchito

lovely-package-gran-luchito-1

Designed by Midday | Country: United Kingdom

“Cultivated and smoked by generations of hardy farmers in the harsh Oaxacan climate, the smoked chillies in ‘Gran Luchito’ products are at the heart of the brand. The name ‘Gran Luchito’, meaning ‘Great Little Fighter’, references the plight of these chillies against the harsh elements but also the obsession amongst the farmer’s with the sport of Mexican wrestling.

We were tasked to reinvigorate the brand and better communicate its unique story, revealing the meaning of ‘Gran Luchito’ and creating more engagement with the consumer. Our solution is a charismatic brand with aesthetics inspired by bold and expressive typographic styles of Mexican wrestling poster art. The range now clearly communicates Gran Luchito’s Mexican heritage, strengthens the smoked chilli taste cues and oozes character and fun.”

Makers & Merchants

Designed by Horse | Country: United Kingdom

“Design studio Horse has worked with the UK-based Makers & Merchants to create the packaging for over 40 eclectic food and homeware products, each one made by a specialist artisan.

Horse created the brand name, identity and packaging for every product, ensuring the artisans behind each one had their stories of quality, craftsmanship and collaboration expressed through the different designs.

“The brand name, Makers & Merchants, reflects the approach to product creation, while the strict colour palette and bold graphic style ensures a sense of family,” explains Ian Firth, creative partner at Horse.  “This allowed the freedom to playfully reflect the personality of both the product and artisan behind it.”
