“Laid-back California cool inspires the branding for a line of marijuana-based products from hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg.

With songs like “Smoke the Weed,” “This Weed Iz Mine,” and “California Roll,” it’s no secret the rapper Snoop Dogg has long been a cannabis connoisseur. Now he’s sharing this passion with the public—at least in Colorado, where consumption is legal—with a new line of marijuana-based products called Leafs By Snoop. Pentagram’s Emily Oberman and team have designed the brand identity and packaging for the line, which includes both flower and edibles (“Dogg Treats”) such as chocolate bars, chews, drops and gummies.”

“J.A. Seawolf inspiration is old sailor’s stories of the adventures. These stories are so ancient, that the thin line with reality has been erased completely for the enjoyment of our fantasies – gigantic sea creatures, mystic islands and devastating hurricanes.

Label design tells these stories with featuring the elements of the tale. Each product has a unique story to tell, that creates a series of adventures. This approach is opening limitless possibilities for the new product lines in the future – with new adventures.

To differentiate the product flavours we are using pastel colour fields for taste description. Main design element – hand drawn story illustrations are to attract attention to the product in the shops and to evoke the interest about the brand. By creating this product I want to tell exciting stories that are united with exquisite taste and company’s heritage.”

“Regal Rogue is leading the vermouth renaissance by uniquely marrying a daring selection of native Australian aromatics with Hunter Valley wines.

Squad Ink has been proudly shaping the Regal Rogue brand since it’s debut in 2011. Four years on and this Australian disruptor is moving into a new and exciting era with the release of the family of Rogues: Lively White, Wild Rosé, Bold Red and Daring Dry.

The Regal Rogue brand has received an amazing response, rejuvenating a dusty alcohol category with a fresh and innovative approach. From the beautifully detailed label to the cleverly crafted launch material, the brand takes shape around a charismatic knight and his devoted owl companion. Achieving the right balance between the old and the new was paramount. The etched illustrative style allowed us to develop the traditional cues and build a credible brand aesthetic, where the bold use of colour and copy allowed us to unleash the youthful spirit of this Australian disruptor.

Squad Ink have created a new and exciting story with a classic tone to introduce an adventurous product to the Australian and international markets.”

A premium chocolate range launching in an already visually busy environment, Pico required impactful, contemporary branding and packaging whilst giving a nod to its Swiss chocolate-making heritage. Our solution is inspired by Swiss poster art and its bold geometric forms reinterpreted as flavour and texture cues in the context of an abstract mountain range designed to lend strong shelf impact.”

“When Confortex’s project arrived to our door we thought that there couldn’t be a more self-rewarding branding project than redesigning a condom’s brand. Confortex is a strong established brand of condoms that have always sold their products via third party distributors. Following a new business objective, they suddenly had the urge to sell directly to final consumer, and for that reason they also needed a brand new image, final consumer-oriented and of course differentiation from their competence. As part of our work method when modifying an existing brand, we usually love finding “that something” that was there all the time, making the brand special from their early beginnings and transform “that something” as a fortitude of the new brand. Confortex was the very first brand to include instructions within their foil unitary packaging, and we thought that was a very cool differentiation to use as a base for the new brand.

The logotype symbol is framed as that foil unitary condom package that made them different. For the packaging system we established a reduced color gamma, two base colors and one accent, and we created pattern based designs for each variety box to make them totally unique and memorable, to assure a wide variety of possibilities for the brand’s future products and of course to differentiate from their competitors on the store display.”

“Since 2012 LYRA has stood for the highest quality handmade chocolate made in Slovakia. Lyra chocolate made of the finest cocoa beans, criollo and trinitario, grown on the plantations in the Middle and South America, was granted an international award Great Taste 2014.

This year they decided to place a new line of their own recipe premium products on the market. The aim was to create new packages for the premium products. Simple, playful and extraordinary just like the products themselves and this way distinguishable from the other chocolate. As a result, there are two new coated products LYRA BEAN-TO-BAR chocolate – 78% DARK BIO and 46% MILK BIO.

The bars feature a small, centered graphic of a cocoa pod, indicative of the pure ingredients used to create it and golden stamping in the middle to distinguish. The new design goes hand in hand with the essence, the taste itself. As the Lyra chocolate flavors are well tuned so do the design of new packages.”

“Τhe briefing (in brief): We would like to renew the image of our line of couverture chocolates. We need a contemporary look for a popular product.

Τhe target consumer: A middle – upper class group of various ages, faithful to the ION quality and also younger generations of prospective clients.

The design: This is a client with whom we have cooperated successfully in other rebranding projects. In this case we had to change the couverture packaging in a way that would update the product identity and pleasantly surprise consumers while strengthening loyalty to the brand. We opted for a design drastically different to the visually overcharged one that already existed: the packaging surface was cleared so that the basic product attributes could emerge in favour of the consumer. Zones of colour were limited to surface edges so as to denote the 4 different chocolate types-flavors (classic, milk, dark cocoa and white chocolate). Emphasis was given to the 5 gr. couverture piece which is the functional basis of the chocolate-cooking process; its sharp ‘snap’ is actually a sign of quality and the first element that memory recalls in relation to couverture handling. Cooking ritual was further invoked by the hand-drawn designs of pots where chocolate pieces are melted. The selected typography added to an overall feeling of a neat kitchen diary where notes and recipes are kept and valued.”

“Maverick Chocolate Co. is a startup company that hand crafts finished bar in their shop at historic Findlay Market in Cincinnati, Ohio chocolate in small batches from the bean to the.Beans are ethically sourced from smallholder farmers; ingredients are organic.

Maverick’s brand salutes gentleman adventurers of yesteryear — those who did things a little differently, just like the company itself. Packages feature vintage engravings of “mavericks” and their whimsical flying machines, a nod to the company owner’s prior career in the aviation industry. The wine-bottle inspired color palette is dramatic and bold. A different flying contraption is pictured on each flavor of bar along with the tagline, “Bean-to-bar chocolate for the adventurous palate.”

Packages for Maverick chocolate bars are die-cut recloseable wallets, printed in 2 colors on textured paper.”
