J.A. Seawolf

J.A. Seawolf

Designed by Field | Country: Latvia

“J.A. Seawolf inspiration is old sailor’s stories of the adventures. These stories are so ancient, that the thin line with reality has been erased completely for the enjoyment of our fantasies – gigantic sea creatures, mystic islands and devastating hurricanes.

Label design tells these stories with featuring the elements of the tale. Each product has a unique story to tell, that creates a series of adventures. This approach is opening limitless possibilities for the new product lines in the future – with new adventures.

To differentiate the product flavours we are using pastel colour fields for taste description. Main design element – hand drawn story illustrations are to attract attention to the product in the shops and to evoke the interest about the brand. By creating this product I want to tell exciting stories that are united with exquisite taste and company’s heritage.”

Sitka Salmon Shares

Designed by CODO Design | Country: United States

“Sitka Salmon Shares is a Community Supported Fishery that delivers the freshest King, Coho and Sockeye salmon to the Midwest from Sitka, Alaska.

This Share Box is one of the most important touch points in their brand experience and Sitka Salmon Shares wanted something special that people would share with friends and keep out on the counter after use.

So we used the entire box as a canvas to communicate the idea of Wild Alaska, Sitka Shares’ superior sustainability focus and a little bit of humor on the inside flap.”

Tesco Fresh Fish

Tesco Fresh Fish

Designed by R Design | Country: United Kingdom

“R Design was approached by Tesco to redesign their entire range of standard and standard plus fresh fish that covered over 50 lines.

The idea was to emulate the buzz and atmosphere of a bustling fishmongers/fish market. The labels were designed to reflect the hand crafted feel of a chalkboard. All the typography was hand drawn and paired with illustrations that highlight the fish type. On the standard plus lines the illustrations change from the fish to that of the flavour or ingredient that comes with the product. e.g. King Prawns with Chilli & Coriander.

Bright colours are used throughout both ranges to differentiate between the fish type and create hierarchy within the product titles and descriptions. The design was able to adapt across several pack formats achieving a consistent look across the range and strong stand out on shelf as well as engaging the consumer.”

Student Work - Karmøy Gravlaks

Designed by Klingsholm / Larsen / Saguate / Ekern / Aas

“The challenge was to pick a typical Norwegian product and redesign the packaging for international launch, primarily in France. Pay attention to cultural differences and design the package so that it stands out in the typical french retail environment.

We chose to promote the already well known Norwegian salmon. As this is an already popular product in France, we decided to focus on a specific type of prepared salmon called Gravlaks. In addition to a standard package containing the usual sliced pieces, we also designed a longer, narrower package containing smaller slices ready to eat. The project was exhibited in France at Axe Sud, a french school of graphic arts and visual communication.”
